Islam Traikia is an Algerian wildlife photographer whose work celebrates the beauty, behaviour, and quiet moments of the natural world. A graduate of Telecommunications from the University of 8 May 1945 in Guelma, he began his photographic journey through street photography and portraiture before discovering a deeper connection with wildlife.
Since then, Traikia has dedicated his work to documenting animals in their natural habitats, creating photographs that encourage people to appreciate and protect the environment. His images are shaped by patience, careful observation, and a commitment to capturing authentic moments without disturbing his subjects.
Throughout his career, Traikia has participated in local, national, and international exhibitions and photography competitions. In 2024, he won First Place at the National Photography Salon in El Oued, Algeria, for his photograph Time.
