For the past year, Ruum Spotlight has documented the work, ideas, and journeys of photographers and visual artists across Africa and the diaspora. Every feature has contributed to a growing archive celebrating African creativity through thoughtful conversations and visual storytelling.

As The Ruum Africa (TRA) ecosystem continues to evolve, we've created a dedicated home for our editorial work. Today, we're introducing 54Journal, the editorial publication of The Ruum Africa.

Going forward, Ruum Spotlight and future editorial series will be published on 54Journal. As the editorial publication of The Ruum Africa, it provides a home for interviews, essays, documentaries, features, and new editorial series exploring African visual culture.

54Ruum remains at the heart of our ecosystem as our community platform, bringing together photographers, visual artists, filmmakers, and other boundary-pushing creatives across Africa and the diaspora.

Every Ruum Spotlight story published to date has been preserved and migrated to 54Journal, where it now forms part of a growing editorial archive. This marks a new chapter in The Ruum Africa's long-term editorial journey.

Thank you to every artist, reader, collaborator, and supporter who has been part of the journey so far.

Welcome to 54Journal.
